Natal Calculations and Chart Wheel

ANS chart calculations have been used by professional astrologers all over the world. The calculations are also highly useful for newcomers to astrology who want to follow the discussions of astrology books with their own chart.  These calculations give accurate chart data in an easy to read format.

Natal Calculations and Chart

Natal calculations are printed on one page, in several sections.

  • Zodiacal Orientation The first section shows the time and orientation of the sky at the moment of birth.
  • Next come the House Cusps, which list the zodiacal longitude of each of the twelve house divisions of the chart wheel.
  • The main part of the calculations is a Planetary Positions table, showing the house position, longitude, latitude, declination,  right ascension and daily travel for each of the ten planets, the Ascendant, MC, Vertex, Head, Tail, and part of fortune.
  • The Aspects table, which follows next, shows for each pair of planets, the aspect formed between them (if any) and the number of degrees away from being an exact aspect. If no aspect is formed, then just the number of degrees in longitude between the planets is listed.  Applying aspects are listed in capital letters, separating aspects in lower case letters. Parallel aspects (same or opposite declination) are also shown.
  • Finally, the calculation page shows a Classical Analysis of the chart. Planets are grouped by Elements (Air, Earth, Fire, Water), Qualities(Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable), and Characteristics (Angular, Succedent, Cadent).
  • At the top of every calculation page is listed the birth information used as the basis for the calculations, as well as the date that the chart was computed.
  • The Chart Wheel is a separate page, printed on a print of a colored water color chart form.  The wheel shows all planet and signs as English abbreviations rather than using glyphs.

Computation Options

These no-cost options which select alternate computation or presentation methods.

  • Sidereal or Tropical Zodiac: This specifies the location in the celestial sphere used as the first point of Aries (0 degrees Aries).
  • Standard or Continental Chart Style: The standard chart style displays all twelve houses as equal pie shaped divisions of the wheel, and shows the longitude of each house cusp around the outside of the wheel.  The continental style shows the twelve signs of the zodiac as equal in size and draws the house sizes according to the number of degrees between their cusps.
  • House Systems: Placidus is the normal house system used.  However, Koch, Equal, and Campanus may also be used instead.
  • Hermetic:  The Hermetic options modify the aspectarian so that the variable orb system used in the astrodyne computations are also used in the natal aspectarian. This option also causes solar arc progression of the MC when computing complete progressions.

Additional Computations
Astro Numeric Service also provides several additional reports based on the natal chart computations:

  • Lamination:  As an aid to the client, chart wheels may be laminated back to back with the calculations page for a permanent record of the birth chart.
  • House Comparisions:  Computes the houses according to seven different computation systems and shows the planetary placements in each system.
  • Midpoints and Structures:  Calculations used in Cosmobiology as described by Reinhold Ebertin, Eleonora Kimmel, and Noel Tyl.  Shows midpoints of all planets by planet and sorted for the 90 degree dial and 45 degree ephemeris. The midpoint structure patterns are presented to assist in the delineation of a chart according to the principles of Cosmobiology.  For each planet a list of midpoint contacts is shown, together a numerical evaluation of the strength of the contact.
  • Astrodynes:  The astrodyne analysis goes even further towards developing a quantitative measurement of the importance of planets based on the strength and character of their aspects with other planets.  Astrodynes develope numerical figures of power, harmony, and discord for each planet, sign, and house.
  • Astro*Carto*Graphy® Map:  This 11x17 map of the world is mounted in a protective cover and includes a listing of latitude crossings, but does not include an interpretive booklet.
  • Bio-Rhythms:  While not an astrological technique, bio-rhythm printouts are a popular accessory printout.  Bio-Rythms are based only on the date of birth, not the time or coordinates.
